The church of the Madonna del Carmine, also known as Church of the Purgatory, was built in 1666 by order of Nunzio Rocca and his wife Caterina De Toma, survivors of the plague of 1656. This is evidenced by the oculus above the church portal with their family's heraldic emblem, depicting a three-peaked mountain surmounted by an eight-pointed star, and the epigraphic inscription: NUTIUS ROC DF EREXIT AMORE PURGATU 1666. The interior has a single nave with a barrel vault. Behind the altar is a painting depicting the Virgin and Child among Saints and Souls in Purgatory.
