Capurso is the other Puglia: A village that surprises you every day. With over 200 annual events and a prime location, it's the ideal starting point for exploring the region and soaking up the Apulian spirit.
Music is the heart of Capurso's summer. Until August 22nd, Piazza Gramsci will host four free live music events, all starting at 21 pm, to accompany residents and visitors on the Ferragosto holiday.
We kick off on Thursday 13 August with The Soul Quintet , protagonists of an evening dedicated to soul sounds and the engaging atmospheres of live music.
Friday 14 August, on the eve of Ferragosto, it will be the turn of Mina Signorile & Band with Voce di donna , an event dedicated to the female voice and a repertoire capable of crossing emotions, styles and great performers.
After the mid-August break, the program will resume on Friday, August 21st with an evening of Brazilian singer-songwriter music and refined atmospheres: Aquarela do Brasil . A musical journey through the rhythms and melodies of great Brazilian composers such as Jobim, Veloso, and Toquinho, along with unforgettable Italian hits, performed by extraordinary voices such as Mina and Ornella Vanoni.
Closing this first part of the summer programming, on Saturday 22 August, will be the musical show Naples and Jazz Stories , which will bring to the square the meeting between the Neapolitan musical tradition and the suggestions of jazz.
Four evenings, therefore, all at 21pm in Piazza Gramsci and with free admission, designed to experience the city through music and transform one of its central places into a meeting and party point.
The calendar will then continue with the most anticipated event of the Capurso summer: the big party in honor of the Madonna del Pozzo, from August 28th to September 6th, a tradition that has its roots in August 30th 1705 and which for over three centuries has represented one of the most identifying and participated moments of the community of Capurso.
